Investigation continues into deadly Greenbrier Street crash

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A St. Albans resident is identified as the victim of a fatal collision near the Capitol Flea Market.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department indicated Joseph Dustin, 20, of St. Albans died at CAMC of injuries suffered in the crash early Tuesday morning. Investigators add he was driving a stolen vehicle.

The wreck happened around 6:20 a.m. on Charleston’s Greenbrier Street. Two vehicle collided head on and both drivers were trapped in the wreckage.

Investigators reconstructing the accident concluded Dustin’s vehicle, a gray Subaru Outback, had traveled across the center line and collided with the other vehicle.

The Subaru had been reported to the Nitro Police Department Monday.

An autopsy is pending on Dustin to determine if he was under the influence of any drugs or alcohol and his cause of death. The investigation also continues into the stolen vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized with non life threatening injuries.
