Increased police presence at two Charleston schools following social media threats

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — There will be an increased police presence at Stonewall Middle and Capital High schools following threats made on social media.

The Charleston Police Department on Wednesday said there is no credible threat to either school, but officers will be at both schools for additional safety and security.

An investigation is underway.

The Charleston Police Department said in a press release parents should monitor their children’s social media activity and report any suspicious activity.
