I-64 reopened after violent Tuesday crash, damaged roadway repaired

TEAYS VALLEY, W.Va. — All lanes of I-64 in Putnam County near the Teays Valley exit are back open after a violent accident shut the interstate down for about 12 hours Tuesday.

Crews have finished repairing the damaged roadway no lanes are closed, according to dispatchers.

The roadway was damaged after a deadly chain reaction crash involving four tractor-trailers and two cars Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred near the 40.5-mile marker in the Teays Valley area, but backed traffic up all the way back to Cross Lanes in Kanawha County.
