Hybrid Patrol arrests 10 in Town Center, Transit Mall sting

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Charleston Police Department Hybrid Patrol Unit conducted an undercover sting Friday targeted at the Charleston Town Center mall and the Transit Mall.

Ten people were arrested as a result of the operation. Five people were arrested at the Transit Mall, three individuals were arrested at Town Center, one person was arrested at Davis Park and one person was taken into custody at Covenant House.

Reasons for arrest include municipal capias, trespassing, open container and possession of marijuana.

Officers arrested the following people:

— Bernet Gore, 45, from Bronx, New York, municipal capias for destruction of property and open container;
— Joseph Haikal Khoury, 32, of Calhoun County, municipal capias for simple possession;
— Jonathan Jarrett, 27, homeless, trespassing;
— Thomas Shea, 54, homeless, trespassing;
— Santee Martin Saekoo, 38, of Cabin Creek, state warrant for 3rd offense shoplifting;
— John Tofi, 50, homeless, two counts of obstructing, as well as trespassing and disorderly conduct;
— James Tyrone Brown, 40, of Philadelphia, municipal capias for no seatbelt and no operators;
— Joshua Everett Robertson, 44, of Baltimore, open container;
— Ryan Lyons, 31, homeless, simple possession of marijuana; and
— Karl Hughes, 26, of Charleston, disorderly conduct.
