Heavy rains, high water damages mobile homes in Putnam County

CULLODEN, W.Va. — Several mobile homes sustained significant damage in Putnam County Thursday evening as hot and humid temperatures gave way to heavy rainfall.

Westwood Mobile Home Park was flooded in Culloden near the Putnam-Cabell county line, displacing 40 to 45 people.

Putnam county 911 director Frank Chapman told WSAZ-TV 15 homes were destroyed by the flood waters.

Emergency crews have responded to a few car rescues as well. The state DOT reported high water along Alt. State Route 10 in Cabell County.
