CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A telephone hearing on the Crossings Mall bridge is scheduled for Thursday.
The hearing was requested by the Kanawha County Commission through a March 24 motion.
“The people of the Elkview community have suffered far more than they ever should have,” Commission president Kent Carper said in a statement. “I am hopeful a resolution will be reached soon.”
The mall is located off of Little Sandy Road in Elkview.
The culvert bridge was destroyed in the June 2016 flood, affecting most of the mall’s functions. More than 500 people lost their jobs because of the mall’s limited use.
