Governor’s office says 8 interested in Kanawha County judicial appointment

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Eight attorneys have made application with the governor’s office to be appointed to the open circuit judge’s seat in Kanawha County.

The Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission received applications from Dan Greear, Robert Hogan, Dr. Richard Lindsay, Benjamin Mishoe, Pancho Morris, Gary Pullin, Larry Rowe and Tera Salango.

Interviews with the advisory commission are scheduled for June 21. The commission will submit three names to Gov. Jim Justice who will make the selection.

Longtime Kanawha County Circuit Judge Jim Stucky resigned in April after a long illness. The six years left on the term will be up for election in November. Greear and Salango have already filed pre-candidacy papers to be part of of that non-partisan election. The filing period will take place in August.
