Elkview man wanted for domestic violence related charges

ELKVIEW, W.Va.–A warrant was issued for the arrest of an Elkview man Wednesday night charging him with wanton endangerment, domestic battery and unlawful restraint.

Kanawha County Police say Brandon Kessell, 29, repeatedly struck his girlfriend with her cellphone Sunday, kneed her in the chest, and bit her. He also reportedly grabbed a loaded .22 caliber rifle and pointed it at her, threatening to kill her and anyone who tried to help her, including police.

Kessell allegedly prevented her from leaving or calling for help until Tuesday. Anyone with information on Kessell’s whereabouts is encouraged to call 304-357-0169, or submit a tip online at www.kanawhasheriff.us.
