Elkview couple charged with child neglect after meth found in car

ELKVIEW, W.Va. — A couple was arrested Wednesday morning after police discovered them passed out in a van with two children inside.

Police say 27-year-old Gregory Ross and 21-year-old Ayla Ross were passed out in a Toyota van parked in the middle of Rossville Lane. A 2-year-old and a 3-year-old were also asleep in the car. According to Col. Brian Humphries of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department, the engine was running and the automatic transmission was in drive.

Police allegedly woke Gregory Ross up and then found what was believed to be crystal meth in the vehicle. Each was charged with felony child neglect creating the risk of injury.

They both are currently in the South Central Regional Jail on $10,000 bail.
