Dunbar Police Dept. searching for alleged double murder suspect

DUNBAR, W.Va. — Dunbar Police were searching for a man Thursday wanted in connection for murder in two states.

Otis Anthony Simpson was arrested for fleeing with reckless indifference Sunday, police said.

Simpson allegedly provided several names that could not be verified, so he was booked as John Doe in South Central Regional Jail.

Before he was arraigned, Dunbar Police said he convinced authorities his name was Timothy Lawson. He was released on a $10,000 bond following his arraignment.

It was later determined that Simpson was from California, where he is wanted for a parole violation for murder. He is also a person of interest in a Kentucky murder, police say.

Simpson is 5’10” and weighs about 250 pounds. Anyone who knows of his whereabouts is urged to contact Dunbar Police or the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department.
