Dangling truck slows I-64 traffic

UPDATE 1:45 p.m. All westbound lanes have reopened.

DUNBAR, W.Va. — Traffic was backed up on Interstate 64 in Kanawha County Monday morning after a tractor trailer carrying thousands of pounds of canned olives crashed.

The truck was dangling over the Dunbar end of the Interstate 64 bridge Monday.

The truck skidded on its side on the Dunbar end of the westbound South Charleston-Dunbar I-64 bridge. Traffic quickly backed up. Two lanes were open by 9:45 a.m.

It was expected to take several hours to clear the wreckage.

There were no initial reports of injuries.
