Charleston police make second arrest in weekend shooting

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Charleston police arrested a second person Tuesday in connection to an early Sunday morning shooting.

Officers said Sarah Taylor, 31, is charged with kidnapping, malicious wounding and first-degree robbery.

Police said a man approached the home of Billy Fields, and asked Fields to pick up Taylor and give her a ride to the store. Fields picked Taylor, who asked the driver to pick up Richard Dangott.

Fields told police between Sissionville and Charleston, Dangott pulled out a handgun and ordered him to drive to a specific spot. Fields attempted to escape when the vehicle stopped near Walnut and Red Oak streets in Charleston, but Taylor attempted to stop him. Dangott kicked Fields out of the vehicle before shooting him twice.

Authorities arrested Dangott Sunday. He has been charged with kidnapping, malicious wounding and first-degree robbery.
