Charleston police arrest four people in connection with home invasion

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Four people have been arrested since Thursday night in connection with a home invasion early Wednesday morning on Delaware Street.

A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested Thursday, due in part to an ankle monitoring device issued to him by the county. The person was on probation.

The teenager was charged with first-degree robbery and burglary.

Charleston police then arrested 18-year-old Trevon Means Friday afternoon. Means has been charged with robbery and burglary.

On Friday evening, Charleston police made two more arrests. Jonathan Pannell, 18, and a second juvenile were arrested after running from police.

One officer was injured in the chase and was treated on the scene for minor injuries.

According to a criminal complaint, five people were involved in the robbery.

The home’s owner, an 84-year-old-woman, was threatened with shotgun while the suspects took items from her home. Charleston Police Chief of Detectives Lt. Steve Cooper says she was not physically harmed.
