Charleston police arrest 9 people in undercover sting at Town Center

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Officers with the Charleston Police Department Hybrid Units arrested nine people Thursday around the Charleston Town Center mall.

According to a press release from the department, six suspects were arrested while possessing needles. The arresstees said the needles came from the Kanawha Charleston Health Department’s needle exchange program.

Charleston police officers arrested the following people:

— Robert Pauley Jr., 39, from Handley; state warrant for driving revoked for DUI and simple possession of marijuana;
— Jimmy Stuart, 45, from Mercer County; state warrant for shoplifting;
— Rachel Pauley, 38; municipal capias for shoplifting;
— David Bachtel, 35; municipal capias for shoplifting and summons for trespassing;
— Cori Fraker, 28, from Cabin Creek; municipal capias for shoplifting;
— April Reed, 33, from Clendenin; municipal capias for 2nd offense shoplifting;
— James Fleck, from Cross Lanes; municipal capias for petit larceny and simple possession of marijuana;
— David Shannon, 48, from Campbells Creek; municipal capias for shoplifting and open container; and
— Thomas Shea, 54, from Charleston; municipal capias for disorderly conduct and trespassing.
