Charleston man arrested following Coonskin Drive hit-and-run

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Charleston man faces charges after allegedly leaving a hit-and-run incident Monday.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said a vehicle operated by Brandon Joe Sneed, 18, crashed into the yard of a private residence on Coonskin Drive near the West Virginia National Guard Armory, causing significant damage to a sewer line. The vehicle, later determined to be stolen, was involved in an earlier incident in Charleston.

Sneed allegedly tried to flee the scene but struck a vehicle in the process. The driver, a woman, was later treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Sneed fled on foot into nearby woods before being apprehended near Baker’s Fork. He faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident causing injury, leaving the scene of an accident causing property damage, no operators and failure to render aid.
