Charleston man arrested after allegedly beating man with a pipe

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A man was arrested in Charleston Saturday afternoon on malicious wounding charges after he allegedly severely beat another man with a pipe.

Police say Timothy Pierson, 51, admitted to beating the man near Washington Street East. The man suffered serious injuries and lacerations to the head, and was taken to CAMC.

Police say Pierson and the man knew each other, and the incident was in retaliation for an earlier fight.
