Charleston man accused of delivering drugs into jail

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies arresting a Charleston man Tuesday accused of transporting items into the Charleston Correctional Center, with those items suspected to be drugs.

A warrant charged Kristopher Lenard Evans, 26, of delivering illegal contraband through a fence at the facility on Hansford Street. Inmates later received the substances

An investigation was conducted following information given to parole officers in March.

Evans was at the South Central Regional Jail for violating his parole. Deputies issued a warrant to search Evans’ residence and found Neurotin and a powder substance.

He will be arraigned before a Kanawha County magistrate on new charges.
