“it is a project that is changing one block at a time on the West Side,” she said. “You can’t imagine how many people do so much for the city that don’t get recognition and I’ve been blessed to meet them.”

Salisbury has also worked on the project. Officers purchase a home on the West Side with theCharleston Urban Renewal Authority district and then then officer works within their block to build social relationships with the community.

“Just being a part of a lot of the city’s long-term vision, being able to work on projects citywide and working a lot with the At-Large Council members has been extremely rewarding,” Salisbury said.
