Charleston CVB to host countywide tourism workshop

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau is hosting a Tourism Workshop on Monday.

The one-day workshop will be at the Holiday Inn & Suites in South Charleston from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Alisa Bailey, president and CEO of Charleston CVB, said she plans to discuss visitation trends in the Kanawha Valley and highlight the CVB’s marketing campaign to drive visitors to the region.

“We want to be able to expose all the partners for all of us to buy in to getting people throughout the region and make their experience very rich,” Bailey said.

Trip Advisor Expert Mark Preston plans to reveal travel trends and provide a greater understanding of how Trip Advisor can work for the area.

“We’re going to be going over a countywide travel guide, travel planner and inspirational magazine proposal,” Bailey said.

The event is open to the public and costs $25. The registration fee covers lunch and refreshments.

“If you’re a small business or organization or anything like that that’s brings tourists into our region, we encourage you to show up,” Bailey said.
