Capital High student after allegedly making threat on Snapchat

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Capital High School student has been arrested after allegedly making a threat on social media over the weekend.

According to the Charleston Police Department, the 16-year-old student posted on Snapchat a picture of him holding a gun and pointing it at the camera. He also included the caption, “You all will pay for what you said about me.”

A school resource officer told WSAZ-TV there were no reported instances of the student being bullied.

The student was being held Tuesday at the Tiger Morton Juvenile Center. Police said a hearing will happen within the next 10 days.

Capital High School Principal Larry Bailey informed parents of the threat, adding the students and staff were not in any danger.
