Capital High closed for week for additional cleaning, testing

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Capital High School will be closed for the remainder of the week because of additional cleaning and testing needed at the school.

Classes were canceled Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday because of elevated mold problems.

Schools across Kanawha County were scheduled to start Monday, with all students except those of Capital High School beginning the school year.

School system officials said last week 10 other schools were impacted by mold problems.

Parents and students are advised to check their Schoology accounts for academic resources. Staff do not need to report.
