MADISON, W.Va. — A Boone County man accused of fatally beating a man with a metal pipe pleaded not guilty this week to first-degree murder.
Authorities arrested Christopher Goodwin, of Uneeda, in September following an altercation in Quinland. Goodwin allegedly struck Jonathan Brown with a pipe.
Goodwin was originally charged with malicious wounding, but the charge was upgraded after Brown’s death. The man died in the hospital.
