Boone County man charged after explosive device found in pocket

BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. — Boone County authorities arrested a Bloomingrose man Tuesday after he was found with an explosive device in his jacket pocket.

Boone County Sheriff’s deputies found Casey Lee Moore, 35, with the device at Racine Park. Officials said it appeared to be homemade.

Students at a nearby Head Start facility were dismissed early because of safety concerns, though Moore was not near the school at the time of his arrest.

Moore was charged with illegal possession of a destructive device, explosive material or indendiary device. He was placed on $50,000 bond.
