Body discovered in Kanawha River ID’d as Charleston man

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A body recovered from the Kanawha River on Wednesday has been identified as a Charleston man.

Charleston Police responded to a call of the body of John Douglas Mason, 56, found around 5:30 near the 2800 block of Kanawha blvd East.

The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed, according to the Charleston Police Department.

Foul play is not suspected.
