Bank robbed in Kanawha City

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — An investigation is underway after a bank was robbed Friday morning in the Kanawha City neighborhood of Charleston.

The BB&T branch at the intersection of MacCorkle Avenue and 38th Street was held up at around 10 a.m.

According to police, a man walked into bank just after it opened and threatened the clerk. He ran from the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He was wearing a West Virginia jacket, a gray wig, gray scarf and blue jeans. The suspect, who was white, appeared to be about 5 feet 4 inches tall.
