Arrest made in Central Ave. murder

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — An arrest has been made in connection with a deadly shooting in the early morning hours on Dec. 31 on Charleston’s West Side.

On Friday, Marlon Labron Rush, 36, was charged with first degree murder for the death of J’Shaad Jones, 18.

Jones, who was wanted on a malicious wounding charge for a Dec. 13 shooting on Charleston’s Bream Street in Charleston, was killed outside a bar on Central Avenue before 2 a.m. Thursday.

Rush, who had been arrested Thursday on unrelated charges, was being held in the South Central Regional Jail on Saturday.

The murder of Jones was the second homicide on Charleston’s West Side in five days.
