CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A celebration will be held at Mary C. Snow Elementary on Wednesday by the American Heart Association to celebrate the official start to West Virginia’s Shared Use Limited Liability protection law.
The law, which officially went into effect on Memorial Day, elimiates a barrier for schools that want to leave their facilities open after school to encourage healthy lifestyles.
State Health Officer Dr. Rahul Gupta will attend, and WV State Superintendent of Schools Michael Martirano will give a speech. Healthy snacks and prizes will also be handed out.
