Kanawha County judge grants postponement in murder trial

CHARLESTON, W.Va.–The trial of a Cross Lanes man accused of murder was delayed Thursday so his lawyers have more time to prepare.

The trial for 30-year-old Dustin Bodkins was set to begin next month, but is now set for August 10. Bodkins allegedly shot and killed St. Albans native Timothy Morris after finding him with his ex-fiancee, Linsey Winans. Police say Bodkins shot Morris and then kicked him in the head.

Bodkins’ attorney, John Carr, asked for the delay and it was granted by Kanawha County Circuit Judge Charles King.
