CHARLESTON, W.Va. –Governor Patrick Morrisey declared a state of emergency for all 55 counties Friday ahead of the significant winter storm that is expected this weekend.
According to the governor’s release, the National Weather Service has forecasted snow accumulations between nine and twelve inches and ice accumulations of approximately two-tenths of an inch. The storm is expected to hit beginning Saturday afternoon and continue through Monday, January 26.
Morrisey urges residents to closely monitor the weather, avoid travel if possible and follow any guidance or instructions issued by state and local emergency management officials.
