GLASGOW, W.Va. — A tragic shooting has claimed the life of a 19-year-old man in Kanawha County.
The incident happened early this morning at a home in Glasgow. Deputies were dispatched to the scene at 12:13 a.m. Witnesses tell Kanawha County deputies the victim thought the gun was unloaded, put it to his head and pulled the trigger. It turned out the gun was loaded and the young man was killed instantly.
The Sheriff’s Department continues the investigation, but deputies say all indications so far show it was just a tragic accident. No drugs were involved and investigators are looking further to see if alcohol may have been tied to the incident.
The name of the victim was not released.
