9 people arrested in Charleston bar raid

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The names of nine people arrested Tuesday night on Charleston’s West Side were released Wednesday afternoon.

The people are connected to the Charleston Police Department raid on Park Place bar. Police Chief Brent Webster called it “ground zero” of the neighborhood’s crime.

The suspects and their charges are:

— Steve Carl Fisher on 15 counts of unlawful acts of licensees;
— Christine Ann Beish on 15 counts of unlawful acts of licensees;
— James “Whitey” Townsend on six counts of distribution of crack cocaine and one count of distribution of marijuana;
— Frances Foye on a county of distribution of crack cocaine and a municipal court warrant of no insurance;
— Ronald Lee Henderson on possession of marijuana;
— Charles Christopher Poore on a municipal court warrant of a first marijuana offense, suspended operators, speeding and seatbelt;
— Deshane Robbins on charges of simple possession of marijuana and a state warrant of battery;
— Shannon Lee Brown on a state warrant regarding child support and a municipal court warrant of battery; and
— Miranda Campbell on a charge of simple possession of marijuana and municipal court warrant of suspended operators.

State Alcohol Beverage Control Administration Commissioner Fred Wooten suspended the bar’s license Wednesday.
