PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. –The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce will come together Friday to celebrate the successes of 2025 and look toward what 2026 will bring.

The nonprofit will host its annual Chamber dinner at the Valley Park Conference Center in Hurricane.

Chamber Director Ashley Alford-Glance said on 580 Live with Dave Allen that the dinner is significant for several reasons. She said the event includes a business meeting to conduct the transition of the board chair. The dinner will also celebrate the successes of the Board of Directors under last year’s chair, Chris Wallace of Vandalia Digital, and the approval of the 2026 chair, Michelle Daugherty of Putnam County Bank.

“After we do that, we have a really fun celebration,” Alford-Glance said. “It’s also a great fundraiser for the chamber, the chamber is a non-profit organization, so not only are we celebrating and having a wonderful evening with our networking, but we also do raise a little money for the organization.”

She also said the networking at the event is open to everyone.

“That goes for not only folks that are seeking election but also for business owners in the area that might want to expand their network, this is the largest networking event in the area and we’re really proud of that and we can’t wait to celebrate with our members,” Alford-Glance said.

During the dinner, Alford-Glance said there would be entertainment but was tight-lipped about the performer, offering only a hint to attendees.

“If you have some blue-suede shoes, you should wear them,” she said.

The reception will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
