KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. –A Sissonville man is in custody following a sexual assault investigation conducted by the Kanawha County Sheriff’s office.

William Roy Mooney, 62, was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual assault in the first degree and sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian, or person in a position of trust to child.
According to officials, over the past year Mooney allegedly sexually assaulted a family member under the age of 18. They also said he allegedly told the minor to not tell anyone about the abuse.
Mooney is being held at South Central Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
