CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The case of a Sissonville man accused of murdering his wife will be considered by a grand jury.

Jason Phillips (KCSD)

Jason Phillips, 46, allegedly shot and killed Joanna Phillips, 46, at a home on Allens Fork Road on December 20. He called 911 and told dispatchers he shot his wife after she “pushed him to the limit.”

Phillips is charged with first degree murder.

Court records showed that Phillips was to have no contact with his wife after turning himself in on October 10 on a domestic battery warrant. He was granted a $3,000 personal recognizance bond and was ordered to have no direct or indirect contact with Joanna Phillips.

The warrant stemmed from a March incident where Phillips allegedly struck his wife multiple times during a verbal argument.

Phillips remains in the South Central Regional Jail without bail.
