HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The state Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a triple fatal fire in Huntington.
It happened at a house in the 300 block of West 8th Street at just before 6 a.m. Tuesday.
“Upon arrival initial crews noted heavy fire and smoke, thought to be abandoned, partially secured residential structure,” Huntington Fire Chief Greg Fuller told MetroNews.
Fuller said the fire was contained and controlled by his firefighters and that’s when they found three bodies.
There was no immediate information released about the victims.
Fuller said the house was at least partially secured as an effort to keep people out.
“Crews had to utilize a K12 saw to enter a doorway that was secured with wire mesh,” he said.
The Huntington Fire Department and Huntington Police Department are also part of the investigation.
The state Medical Examiner’s Office was also called to the scene.
