CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Lincoln County man is facing charges after police say he shot his girlfriend’s children.

Anthony Lee Volpitta, 56, was apprehended late Saturday night near Oakwood Road on U.S. Route 119. State Police and Charleston Police helped make the arrest.
According to State Police, the girlfriend was in the vehicle with the man during the traffic stop. Troopers say Volpitta initially refused to exit.
State Police also say the children the man allegedly shot were not seriously injured.
Volpitta has been charged with wanton endangerment, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, discharging a weapon within 500 feet of a dwelling and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
