SISSONVILLE, W.Va. — A Kanawha County man is charged with first degree murder after he allegedly shot and killed his wife early Saturday morning at the couple’s home in Sissonville.

Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence on Allens Fork Road in at 3 a.m. after Jason Phillips, 46, of Sissonville, had called Metro 911 moments earlier and said he had shot and killed his wife, Joanna Phillips, also 46.
According to a criminal complaint, Phillips told dispatchers he shot his wife once in the chest with a shotgun. He said she had “pushed him to the limit.”
Deputies arrived on the scene and found evidence consistent with what Jason Phillips told 911 dispatchers.
He’s being held in the South Central Regional Jail without bail.
Court records show there was a history of domestic violence. Jason Phillips violated a recently signed protective order when he was at the residence.
