HERNSHAW, W.Va. — The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department has identified those involved in a fatal accident that occurred Dec. 2.
Deputies said Kayla Jacobs was the driver of an SUV in the 2000 block of Lens Creek Road in eastern Kanawha County last week when she crashed head-on with a utility truck from a local heating and air conditioning company. According to deputies Jacobs was travelling in the wrong direction when she came upon the truck who attempted to avoid a collision
Jacobs’ daughter, Ethelyn Grubb, 8, was a passenger in the front passenger seat and was ejected from the vehicle when it landed in a ditch. Jacobs was taken to the hospital. Grubb died of her injuries at the scene.
No charges were filed against either driver so far. The investigation into the accident continues.
