CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Kanawha County jury found a man not guilty Wednesday in connection with a gun fight near the Shawnee Sports Complex last year.

Kaden Bowman was charged with two counts of wanton endangerment with a firearm.
The jury found him not guilty on both charges. The 12-member panel deliberated the case for about 90 minutes.
Two other men in the case, Antonio Jacobs and Zion Clark, pleaded guilty earlier this year and were sentenced to multiple years in prison.
Attorneys for Bowman maintained he fired at Jacobs and Clark in self-defense.
Bowman did not testify, in fact, the defense put on no witnesses before resting its case Wednesday morning.
The May 2024 exchange of gunfire caused panic at the nearby sports complex. There were children and parents running for cover.
The defense criticized the prosecution this week for focusing its case on what was happening at Shawnee. Attorneys said the shooting took place in a neighborhood that has seen its share of shootings in the past.
