KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. — A Kanawha County man has been arrested in relation to an accidental shooting incident from November.

Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies apprehended Henon Wesley Snodgrass, 42, Tuesday afternoon at a residence on Falcon Drive.

Snodgrass was charged with two counts of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm after James Wesley Brogan, 32, accidentally shot himself in the leg at Snodgrass’ property on November 11, 2024.

Brogan, who was also a convicted felon, shot himself at Snodgrass’ trailer on Cone Run Road with a .38 caliber pistol. Following the incident, the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant and recovered over 100 rounds of ammunition. Brogan was charged with one count of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and one count of wanton endangerment.

Snodgrass is being held at the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.
