CHARLESTON, W.Va. –– A Kanawha County man has been convicted of child sex crimes.
Benjamin Joseph Roy, 22, of Julian, pleaded guilty Wednesday to first-degree sexual abuse and third-degree sexual assault charges.
Court documents show that a criminal complain was filed against Roy on June 12, 2024, on Younger Drive near Charleston.
The complaint stated that the victim was screaming, and that Roy was leaving the area without pants where the victim was sleeping.
In an interview, the victim identified Roy as the man who assaulted her.
Roy is scheduled to be sentenced on February 26. He faces between two and 10 years in prison.
