ST. ALBANS, W.Va. — Kanawha County fire crews busy with a number of structure fires on New Year’s morning.
Flames destroyed a vacant mobile home at Donald Gene Road and Ferrell Road not far from St. Albans.
The blaze was reported at around 3:30 a.m. Fire crews from the Lakewood Volunteer Fire Department were on the scene.
Meanwhile, volunteer fire crews in eastern Kanawha County say an elderly man was able to make it out of his burning house on Dorsey Drive in Shrewsbury.
The fire was reported at 5:24 Wednesday morning.
Investigations into both blazes are underway.
