CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Appalachian Power has reported that 12,000 customers were lost power during Tuesday afternoon’s rain storms coupled with heavy winds.
Appalachian Power says two thirds of the affected customers were in West Virginia, with Kanawha, Logan, Mingo, Ohio, Roane, and Wyoming Counties being hit the hardest.
As of 5:20 , Appalachian Power has just under 7,000 total customers still without power. The company expects most customers to see their power restored by this evening.
Mingo County currently has the most outages with 1,900.
