KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. — Firefighters are investigating the cause of fire that destroyed a home in Kanawha County early Saturday morning.
Firefighters with the Sissonville Fire Department say the home where the blaze broke out along the 3100 block of Falcon Drive is a total loss. They responded to the call around 5:30 Saturday morning.
Crews said when they arrived to the scene, they found that a family dog did not make it out and died trying to escape the home. They said the other animals in the home managed to escape.
No one was reportedly home at the time the fire broke out and there were no other injuries.
