KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. — An Ohio man has been convicted after a shots fired incident in Kanawha County.

Jaylean Deshawn Puzakulics, 21, of Akron, OH, pleaded guilty Wednesday to being a Person Prohibited in Possession of a Firearm.

Officers from the Kanawha County Sheriff Office were dispatched to the Dunbar area on May 19 for a shots fired call, where Puzakulics was determined to be in possession of a firearm despite being a prohibited person.

Puzakulics was convicted of Conspiracy to Commit Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl in September 2022.

Puzakulics will be sentenced on February 20. He is facing a minimum penalty of five years in jail.
