CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A man could spend up to five years behind bars after firing shots at utility workers and refusing to come out of his home for law enforcement officers.
Aaron Grindstaff, 32, pleaded guilty to wanton endangerment in a February incident along Wills Creek Road in Clendenin.
According to a criminal complaint, Grindstaff is accused of firing several shots at workers who were installing fiber lines in his neighborhood, and refused to leave his home for more than three hours when deputies arrived.
One deputy suffered a non-life-threatening injury in the incident.
Officers say about 19 guns and a “significant” amount of ammunition were in Grindstaff’s home.
Grindstaff will face one to five years in prison when he is sentenced on Jan. 30, 2025.
