CHARLESTON W.Va.— 1,500 residents are without power after a vehicle crash on Charleston’s East End that.

The wreck occurred just after 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Ruffner Avenue and Quarrier Street. The crash knocked down a utility pole and power lines. The driver was driving a large hauling truck at the time of the crash. According to first responders that were on the scene, the driver was possibly shocked in the incident.

A witness said that the driver was taken to Charleston General Hospital but the extent of the drivers’ injuries are unknown.

Appalachian Power gave an estimated restoration time of 12:30 a.m.
