CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Members of the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office are mourning the loss of retired patrol dog, K9 DJambo.
K9 Djambo, who retired in 2022, had an eight-year career with the department, first seeing action in 2014 with Sergeant C.D. Lyons.
K9 Djambo got the job done day in and day out for the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office, as he finished his career with over half a million dollars worth of illegal drugs seizures, 33 illegal firearms seized, and helped with 20 apprehensions.
Police departments all across the area received assistance from K9 Djambo at one point or another, as he pitched in for every police department in Kanawha County, the West Virginia State Police, the Roane County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia International Yeager Airport, and more.
