CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin says the city’s late summer street repaving program is beginning this week.
“Paving has begun,” Goodwin said during a Monday visit on 580Live with Dave Allen. “We certainly hope to have it done by October. Sometimes we go into November but October is the mark.”
Goodwin said more than 13 miles of streets in the Capital City will be repaved by contractors.
The program also covers other work, Goodwin said.
“It’s paving, it’s concrete work, some of our streets are still concrete, and curb cuts as well,” Goodwin said. “When we’re doing paving we’re required to do curb cuts. You’re going to see a lot of that.”
The City Council approved a $3 million contract with Bear Contracting, of Bridgeport,
