CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies have charged a woman with murder in the February death of a Mink Shoals man.
Brittany Hickman was arraigned Friday afternoon in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
Hickman is charged with shooting and killing Richard Crowder, 70.
Crowder’s body was found inside his home on Feb. 13.
Deputies say the investigation determined that Hickman was the last person seen with Crowder before his death.
“Hickman was located nearby the day Mr. Crowder’s body was discovered and detectives collected evidence that was believed to place her at the crime scene,” a sheriff’s office news release said. “DNA and other forensic evidence have now confirmed Ms. Hickman was involved in the homicide of Mr. Crowder.”
Hickman is charged with first degree murder. She’s being held without bail in the Southcentral Regional Jail.
